Who Are We?
Decentralized Pictures Foundation ("The Foundation" or "DCP") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to promote the arts. We aim to create an ecosystem that will discover, curate, promote, and support artists worldwide. We are a diverse network of industry leaders, studios, production companies, management, and talent agencies.
What is TALNT?
TALNT is a blockchain ecosystem designed to aid in our goals. Originally forked from the Tezos blockchain for its proven on-chain governance model and proof of stake consensus, TALNT has evolved to a Base AppChain to better serve the needs of our ecosystem.
Why a Dedicated Chain?
Gas costs on many Layer 1 chains have been an ongoing issue. An arts & culture focused blockchain allows us to create an ecosystem of creative projects and applications to support art and artists. We need rails for our applications on TALNT, including financing and support apps that have incentivized behavior models to aggregate data and determine which artists are most deserving of support from the DCP fund and partner network.
DCP pays the gas within our apps for our users, which would be unpredictable on chains we are not actively participating in. By moving to a Base AppChain, we're able to leverage the security and ecosystem of Base while maintaining the tailored environment needed for our specific use cases.
